Stock the Bar Party Gift

Last weekend the U's friend had a stock the bar/lingerie couples shower for their upcoming wedding. When I heard stock the bar I knew immediately what I wanted to do, thanks to . While the U was a bit skeptical, preferring that we shoot for a nice bottle of whiskey or something of that sort, I decided to take it to a whole other level.

Here are the poems that I found with the Pin:

Wedding Night
The night you have dreamed of is finally here
The future surrounds you with hope and yet fear
You’ve wanted so long to find your perfect mate
Sip this wine and toast this perfect date
The night is meant for you to share
Enjoy each other – a perfect pair!

First Fight
When fights occur and tempers get hot
Pour a glass and be thankful for what you’ve got
If you always agreed it would certainly be a bore
And by asking for Jenn’s hand Matt is surely in for more!

First Dinner Party
Open your home to entertain and eat
Catch up with old friends and new ones to meet
When the night is over share this bottle of wine
But don’t sit down yet – it’s clean up time!

First Christmas
A wise man said wine is better than beer
And now is the season for lots of holiday cheer
So pop the cork and relax a bit,
And when the night is through,
Kiss goodnight, close your eyes
and Santa will be good to you!

First Anniversary
Been married a year, where did the time go?
No longer newlyweds, now you are pros
Hope the days found you in good health and good spirit
Keep saying I love you – one always needs to hear it!
Now toast this first date, it’s certainly not the last
And as you build your future don’t ever forget the past!

I opted to give them sparkling cider for the final bottle because I didn't think it fair that only the man would be allowed to drink the champagne. I searched online and found this poem to replace the one commonly used:

First Baby
The news that a baby will soon share your life
will make you a mother not only a wife.
You’ll see it through good times and sometimes bad.
Jenn the loving mother, and Matt the dearest dad.
Even though she must toast with this sparkling cider
In nine months she'll have bubbly with baby beside her!

I designed the labels myself and I also threw in some cute cocktail napkins and a wine bottle stopper in coordinating colors. I bought various bottles from the same brand, because that's just me and I like to match. I also found a coordinating bag to stash the little undies I put in for the lingerie part of the gift.

All items, aside from the panties, were purchased at World Market. The bin was 50% off and all non-alcoholic items that I purchased were 15% off, which left me with this entire gift and wrapping items for under $75. It could be done for less, and it could be done for more. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend on the booze!

  3. Very cute!! One of my friends had a stock the bar party (a total bachelor - party guy) and since I don't drink, I brought gallons of milk. I'm such a butthole. (Hey, he could make white Russians!)
